Jack Vandeventer completed more than 27 years with Eli Lilly and Company in many technical (scientific and medical) and management roles. He held positions in plant science research, ag chem sales support, training and development, project management, and procurement (MRO, energy, engineering, IT, transportation and logistics, pharmaceutical, agricultural and animal health raw and intermediate materials) at both bulk and fill/finish manufacturing sites. He led the strategic sourcing effort for five years in clinical research. He successfully negotiated more than 2000 contracts and generated more than $50 million dollars of value. His procurement expertise includes tactical procurement flow, supplier development and integration, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management. He is seen as a global resource on Procurement, Supplier Diversity, Negotiations, and Strategic Sourcing and has presented many times in the US and Europe. Suppliers that Jack sourced won Lilly Suppliers of the Year award nine times since the award inception. Supply areas included Commercial Print, Electrical Supplies, Marketing Fulfillment, and Clinical Trial Research and Management.

    Jack has extensive experience working with diverse suppliers, client groups and leadership in a wide variety of disciplines, including sales, pharmaceutical manufacturing, corporate training and development, education, not-for-profit, discovery research, product development, engineering, quality assurance, procurement, regulatory, marketing, human resources, and medical. He has worked with administrative, technical, mid and upper-level managers, C-level top leadership, church leadership, and not-for-profit boards of directors.

    Jack completed his undergraduate degree from Indiana University, Masters of Science from Southern Illinois University, and Ph.D. from Michigan State University. The Institute of Supply Management awarded Jack the Lifetime Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) in 2005. He was recognized as a Master CFI by the National Association of Flight Instructors. He has been flying since 1977, has a Commercial Pilot License and is a CFI-I (Instrument Flight Instructor). He was recognized with the WOOD BADGE award by the Boy Scouts of America for service to his community, along with scout and adult leadership development. Diverse suppliers awarded Jack the Procurement award from the Indiana Business Diversity Council two times for his direction and support.

    Jack is a member of Alpha Zeta, the Institute of Supply Management, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Experimental Aircraft Association, Indianapolis Purchasing Management Association, National Association of Flight Instructors, and Zionsville United Methodist Church, Zionsville, Indiana.
